Quarterly Summary | July – September 2026
Market overview
Summer is traditionally the slowest period of the year in e-commerce, but this year’s August pleasantly surprised us. During the month, Dognet publishers generated nearly 79,000 sales worth more than €3.4 million for e-shops, making August the strongest of the three summer months.
Throughout the summer, the highest number of orders came from categories such as multi-category retailers (Arukereso.hu, Lidl.sk, Tchibo.sk, Hasznos-holmik.hu), sports (Decathlon.sk, Decathlon.hu, IronAesthetics.cz), pharmacies (Benulekaren.sk, Najlekaren.eu) and pet supplies (Zoohit.sk, ABC-zoo.sk, Vsepropejska.cz). The warm weather also drove strong demand for air conditioning and cooling products, sunglasses and summer fashion.
One of the major topics of the summer was the introduction of a €3 customs duty on individual items in small shipments arriving from outside the EU. This could create opportunities for publishers to promote local alternatives, price comparisons and more attractive purchasing options.
At the same time, artificial intelligence is gradually becoming an increasingly important part of the customer journey. Consumers no longer have to simply search for a product and compare its price – they can ask AI tools what to buy, compare several options or use AI to validate their purchasing decision. For publishers, this makes it increasingly important to offer unique added value through real-life experiences, reviews, testing, opinions and original comparisons.

Recommendations for publishers
We are entering the strongest e-commerce season of the year, with Black Friday, Black Week and the Christmas shopping season just around the corner. For publishers, this is the perfect time to capitalize on increased consumer demand and create content that helps shoppers choose the right gifts and make their purchasing decisions.
In addition to traditionally strong categories such as electronics, appliances, fashion and cosmetics, it is also worth focusing on dietary supplements, health and immunity products for the winter months, as well as sports equipment for skiing and other winter activities.
Across all categories, content built around comparisons, curated selections, gift guides, reviews and special offers can be particularly effective in reaching customers at different stages of the purchasing journey.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that you make the most of the strong Q4 season and that this year’s Black Friday and Christmas shopping season will be a great success for you! 🎄
